Inside Out Confidence Overview – Marina Shearer

 

Conversations with the Mirror – self-talk and self-criticism are crucial elements in our self-esteem; it is important to ensure that we are speaking to ourselves with respect and being deliberate about speaking into our day in a positive and empowering way.

 

Accomplishments and achievements are a very personal part of the journey, it is very easy to fall into the comparison trap and feel ‘less-than’ another person who you perceive to be ‘more-than’ you are.  In this topic we will talk about celebrating your own journey, feeling fulfilled with what you have and who you are; and making authentic choices about your future that align with your own beliefs and values.

 

Who not What – often women feel that the question ‘what do you do’ defines who they are.  In this topic we will talk about ‘who you are’ as your definer; not what you do.  Allow your definition in life to be more than a role you play to your family.

 

Values and Beliefs that will keep you mentally well and on track.  These two incredible words are the power behind all that we do and all that we are.  They are the compass in our lives but often we have not intentionally defined them nor are we aware of how our daily choices are lining up with our Visions and Beliefs.  In this topic you will identify your values and beliefs and you will see how having them front and centre in your life will help you to line up the decisions you make on a daily basis.

 

The whole hearted person is an image of an individual shared by Brene Brown in her book “The power of vulnerability”.  In this topic we will find out more about Brene, vulnerability and whole hearted living.

 

Inverted kindness.  If your friend or neighbour was suffering with an obvious situation how would you reach out to them? Inverted kindness is about considering what we would do for others and allowing ourselves the ‘self-care’ required to be kind to us, when we need it and when no-one else is providing it for us.

 

Mini Mindfulness techniques to help you in moments of self-doubt and over-whelming emotions.  As a mindfulness facilitator Marina has an entire workshop dedicated to this subject.  She will take some of the most powerful tools and share them for quick emergency recover tools for when we need to manage our responses.  She will help you to understand your emotions and allow them to “be” just as they are without judgement.

 

Fears and Failures – How to speak to ourselves about the inevitable times that will happen when fears and failures will occur.  How to ensure that these do not cripple us but instead allow them to be used them for growth and personal development.

 

How gratitude will change our lives and help us to notice our world and feel good about all that is in our lives. 

 

The Emotional Bank Account.  How to care for yourself and fill your tank up so that there is something to draw from and share with others.  This topic area is all about understanding and planning for the energy that will be required from me throughout the day; where will it come from, what will it look like and will there be enough to get me through the day.

It has given me some tools and motivation to improve my well-being.  It has been great to meet the other women in the community.

 

It has given me tools to recognised how I'm feeling and how to help myself process things and give me starting points to talk to a trusted person.  I really enjoyed the day with Marina and Lucy.
